About the Project
Ampsail, a construction and development contractor, was tasked with delivering a modern, multi-use building in Barking—Crown House, comprising newly built residential apartments and ground-floor retail units. As part of the development’s life safety and building management systems, there was a need for a robust network infrastructure to support both CCTV surveillance and access control (AC) systems across the entire site.
To meet these requirements, Ampsail engaged Varciti to design and install a reliable and scalable data backbone to ensure the successful deployment and future-proofing of these critical systems.
Our Solution
Varciti provided a complete end-to-end service—from design and planning through to installation, testing, and commissioning—of a structured Cat6 cabling network to serve as the backbone for both CCTV and access control.
Key Deliverables:
- Structured Network Design:
We carried out detailed site assessments and developed a tailored Cat6 cabling plan that met the coverage and performance requirements for all areas of the building, including residential corridors, lift lobbies, main entrances, and external areas.
- Cat6 Cabling Installation:
High-performance Cat6 cabling was installed throughout the site to provide fast and reliable connectivity for IP-based CCTV and AC hardware. Routing was designed to maintain neatness, accessibility, and serviceability without compromising the building’s aesthetics.
- Commissioning and Handover:
Upon completion, all cabling and termination points were tested to ensure performance and compliance. The network was fully commissioned and delivered ready for integration by the security systems team.
- Collaborative Delivery:
Varciti worked closely with Ampsail’s project managers and subcontractors to align with the wider construction schedule, avoiding delays and ensuring smooth project progression.
